Ambition End of Season Event

Ambition Motorsport have put together a special team-only day at Bayford Meadows on Tuesday the 20th of December. This is to bring all the drivers and parents together to highlight their achievements of the 2011 season. A fun-filled but educational day for all drivers under the supervision of some of the best driver mentors in the UK. A raffle will also be taking place on the day for many families to take home some cracking gifts.

To come down and support for the day is welcome for all as this day includes Super Cadet trial runs for interested drivers looking at making a class move before 2012. We will be updating with pictures and report from the day during this week but we would like to wish all our drivers, traders and supporters a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!

Bring on 2012!

Snow falls at Buckmore Park

The last round of the summer championship at Buckmore Park brought cold weather to the Kent circuit on both days. Ambition had two drivers for this event in both Honda categories. Charlie Lamb was racing for the first time in the Honda Cadet class after graduating from Clubman after Bayford Meadows and Jean Sammut was competing in the Clubman category.

Sundays first event was the 8min qualifying where the half wet, half dry track brought some quick times near the end of the session. Charlie posted a time which positioned himself in 5th for the start of the heats. Jean had a focussed qualifying and put in a strong performance to qualify Pole for the first time at Buckmore Park, by claiming it on the last lap by 2 tenths from his next nearest rival.

The boys had mixed heats in changeable conditions, but showed great race craft and strength round the twisty and kerb hopping circuit. The final saw Jean having a great start in the clubman field powering up to 4th place at the start. But an unlucky set-up change for the final saw the young 8-year old drop to 8th by the flag.

Charlie had a great start in the Honda Cadet field but unfortunately got collected taking him out of contention to challenge at the front on lap 1. He battled hard to improve ground but no further progress was made after crossing the line midfield.

This concluded the teams racing for 2011 after a great year with results and championship positions.

2012 brings a new chapter with the team promoting two sides of the business with the Academy line-up and the Ambition A-Team who will be competing at the highest level in UK karting.

F6 Prize winners awarded Ambition Vouchers!

The conclusion of the 2011 Honda Cadet F6 Championship saw the top three drivers awarded their prizes and vouchers supplied by the team at Kartmania Kart show. Ambition Driver Christopher Lulham took the spoils over all in the championship, with the most points gained.

Ambition as a company sponsored every round for the top three drivers, including fastest lap and the over all championship. Prizes in access of £800 were distributed to the lucky winners.

Ambition would like to thank Roger Sheffield and the F6 team for running this great little championship. Ambition are currently conducting a new sponsorship programme for 2012.

Double Podium at Kimbolton!

The weekend of the 10th and 11th of December saw Ambition compete for the first time in over a year at the Kimbolton circuit in Cambridgeshire. Ambition Motorsport fielded three drivers in the Honda Cadet category which were Charlie Lamb, Christopher Lulham and Mark Kimber.

After two strong heats by Charlie and Chris, both boys lined up on grid in the top six out of nineteen other competitors. Mark unfortunately had a couple of incidents in the two heats which saw him on a lowly grid fifteen start. With sprinkles of rain before the start most competitors where debating about the change to wets. Ben Thomson gambled with his father on a wet option but the team strongly believed in a dry set-up.

A quick pressure recount in all three drivers karts enabled them to show such strong pace, with Chris using the experience he has gained with the team to work with his team mate Charlie charging towards the leader and for them both to make an Ambition challenge pushing their way through into first and second leading into the last lap.

Mark showed his attacking skills by coming through the field strongly with great speed and grip to leap into 5th place as the flag fell. Upfront leading into the last corner Chris unfortunately left the slightest of gaps to lose his well earned second place to finish at the flag 3rd with Charlie taking his first outright Honda Cadet victory for the whole team to be proud of.

Ambition would like to congratulate the boys for their true grit and focussed driving throughout the day, with Charlie taking fastest lap in one heat and Chris fastest in the final. On the final result standing the three boys classified in the top four fastest, with only Mark being 0.001 off the team securing the fastest three times.

Ambition look forward to competing once again at the circuit in February 2012, and would like to thank all the staff and the help from Sean Babington this weekend.
