Ambition Motorsport BMKR Round 1 marked the start of the team’s club championship campaign at Bayford Meadows last weekend, as drivers competed in both Bambino karting and Honda Cadet karting categories. As a UK kart racing team focused on structured preparation and long term driver development, the opening round provided an important early season benchmark.

The BMKR Championship, held exclusively at Bayford Meadows, offers consistent competitive mileage across the season. With every round taking place at the same circuit, performance is built through refinement, data analysis and incremental improvement rather than adaptation to new venues. Round 1 therefore set the tone for the months ahead.

Bambino MightE – Competitive and Consistent Performances

Ambition Motorsport fielded two drivers in the Bambino MightE category at BMKR Round 1, with both delivering structured and consistent weekends at Bayford Meadows.

Nicholas Ansah qualified strongly in third position, immediately placing himself within the leading group. He finished fourth in the Heat after starting third, remaining firmly in contention. The Pre Final saw Nicholas start and finish fourth, maintaining steady pace in close racing conditions. From fourth on the grid in the Final, he delivered another composed drive to secure fourth at the flag, collecting valuable early season championship points.

Alongside him, Hedley Roycroft demonstrated consistency throughout the meeting. Qualifying fifth positioned him inside the top group from the outset. He maintained fifth place in both the Heat and Pre Final with measured and disciplined drives, managing race pace effectively. In the Final, Hedley again held position to finish fifth, completing a controlled and reliable opening round to his BMKR campaign.

Across the Bambino MightE class, the weekend provided a strong foundation, with both drivers showing competitive pace and the consistency required for a long club championship season at Bayford Meadows.

Honda Cadet – Front Running Pace and Determined Recovery

The Honda Cadet karting category saw three Ambition Motorsport drivers competing in Round 1, each delivering performances that reflected preparation and resilience.

George Lilly was immediately competitive, qualifying second and placing himself firmly in contention. He maintained that position in the Heat with a measured drive. Although the Pre Final was not contested, George lined up second for the Final and delivered another composed performance to secure second place overall. It was a strong opening result and an encouraging start to his club championship campaign.

Zara Janes faced a more challenging start to the weekend after a DNF in qualifying placed her at the back of the grid for the Heat. From twenty fourth on the grid, she produced a determined recovery drive to finish nineteenth, gaining multiple positions. After not contesting the Pre Final, Zara lined up nineteenth for the Final and continued to move forward, finishing sixteenth. The weekend demonstrated resilience and race craft in difficult circumstances.

Lola Holt Brown qualified eleventh and maintained that position in the Heat with a consistent run. With the Pre Final not contested, she started eleventh in the Final and crossed the line twelfth after a competitive race. The weekend provided valuable early season mileage as the team continues to refine performance at Bayford Meadows.

A Structured Start to the Season

BMKR Round 1 provided a clear foundation for the 2026 club championship season. With podium success in Honda Cadet, consistent top four pace in Bambino MightE and valuable recovery drives across the field, the weekend delivered useful data and important track time.

Attention now turns to the events to come, where the team will build on the lessons of the opening weekend and continue its championship campaign.

Ambition Motorsport returned to Bayford Meadows last weekend for the BM Plate, delivering a strong and productive race meeting as preparations continue for a full season of competition at the circuit. With drivers competing across MightE Bambino and Honda Cadet categories, the weekend provided an ideal early season benchmark and a valuable warm up for the Bayford Meadows race events that lie ahead.

Bayford Meadows is a circuit that rewards precision and consistency, with tight margins and close racing throughout the field. Across the weekend, Ambition Motorsport drivers demonstrated solid pace, improving race craft and encouraging progress as the team continues its structured approach to driver development.

MightE Bambino – Consistency and Progress

In the MightE Bambino category, Teddy Wesolowski delivered a composed and consistent weekend. Qualifying sixth set him up well for the races, and he maintained that position through the Pre Final with a controlled drive. In the Final, Teddy showed good awareness and race management, moving forward one position to finish fifth at the flag. It was a well executed performance that highlighted steady progression and confidence on track.

Alongside him, Nicholas Ansah continued to build experience in a competitive Bambino field. After qualifying eighth, Nicholas made forward progress in the Pre Final, gaining a position to finish seventh. In the Final, he remained in close contention throughout, crossing the line eighth after a busy race. The weekend provided valuable race mileage and another step forward in his development.

Honda Cadet – Strong Pace and Recovery Drives

The Honda Cadet class saw several strong performances from Ambition Motorsport drivers, with pace evident across the line up.

Reggie Dufficy was among the front runners from the outset, qualifying third and immediately placing himself in contention. Despite a challenging Pre Final that saw him drop to fifth, Reggie responded impressively in the Final. Starting ninth, he delivered a confident and controlled recovery drive, working his way forward to finish on the podium in third place. It was a strong demonstration of race craft and resilience.

Lola Holt Brown also showed competitive pace throughout the weekend. Qualifying fourth and finishing third in the Pre Final reflected her strong position within the field. The Final proved more difficult, with Lola slipping back to seventeenth after a tough race, but the underlying speed shown earlier in the weekend remained a clear positive.

Zara Janes continued her development in Honda Cadet, qualifying ninth and gaining valuable experience across multiple races. After the Pre Final, Zara lined up for the B Final, where she produced an excellent drive, finishing third after starting fourth. That result earned her a place in the Final, where she started nineteenth and worked forward to finish fifteenth, gaining several positions and demonstrating strong determination and consistency.

A Valuable Early Season Benchmark

The Bayford Meadows BM Plate proved to be a highly productive weekend for Ambition Motorsport. With solid results, podium finishes, and consistent improvement across both Bambino and Honda Cadet classes, the event delivered exactly what the team was looking for as it prepares for a full season of racing at the circuit.

Attention now turns to building on this momentum, refining details, and continuing preparation as the team looks ahead to upcoming Bayford Meadows events and the wider 2026 race programme.
