Ambition Motorsport WLKC Spring Cup weekend saw the team return to Warden Law for competitive club action in the Honda Cadet category. With recent layout changes introduced at the circuit, the event placed additional emphasis on rapid adaptation, technical understanding and race execution.

Warden Law remains one of the most demanding circuits on the UK calendar. Elevation changes, flowing sequences and limited margin for error reward drivers who combine precision with confidence. The revised layout and kerbs added another layer of complexity, making practice sessions and data review particularly important across the weekend.

Honda Cadet – Pace, Recovery Drives and Resilience

Archie Loveridge set the early benchmark by securing pole position in qualifying, demonstrating immediate pace on the updated layout. In Heat 1 he led from the front before finishing fourth, setting the fastest lap of the race. Heat 2 saw him convert pole into victory, again recording fastest lap and confirming front running speed. The Super Heat proved more challenging, with Archie dropping to ninth after starting second. In the Final, he lined up third and led significant portions of the race before crossing the line fifth on the road after a competitive battle at the front. It was a performance that underlined strong pace despite not securing the result his speed warranted.

Olly Knox showed consistent progression throughout the weekend. Qualifying thirteenth placed him mid pack, but he immediately moved forward in Heat 1, gaining six positions to finish seventh. A tenth place in Heat 2 kept him in contention before an impressive Super Heat drive from ninth to fifth demonstrated strong race craft. Starting ninth in the Final, Olly remained competitive but ultimately finished eleventh after close racing in a tightly packed field.

Josh Adotey delivered one of the most notable recovery performances of the weekend. After qualifying eighteenth, he made significant progress in Heat 1, climbing to tenth at the flag. Heat 2 saw further forward movement to thirteenth, and although the Super Heat proved more difficult, he started the Final eleventh and brought the kart home in tenth. The weekend reflected steady improvement and effective adaptation to the revised circuit configuration.

Reggie Cook faced a challenging start after qualifying nineteenth. The opening heats did not offer immediate gains, but he responded strongly in the Super Heat, moving from twenty first to eleventh in a determined drive through the field. Starting seventeenth in the Final, he crossed the line nineteenth after a competitive race. Despite the difficulties, the weekend provided valuable race mileage and continued development at a technically demanding venue.

Learning on a Revised Layout

With clear front running pace, strong recovery drives and detailed data gathered across the weekend, the event provided a constructive step forward. Attention now turns to refining performance and building momentum as the season progresses across club competition and British karting championships.

This Ambition Motorsport Whilton Mill Winter Cup 2026 explains how Ambition Motorsport kicked off its 2026 campaign last weekend at Whilton Mill, taking on The Kart Championship Winter Cup in what proved to be a valuable and encouraging first race weekend of the year. With around half of the team’s driver line up in attendance, the event provided an ideal opportunity to assess winter progress, fine tune packages, and build momentum ahead of the main season.

Whilton Mill is a circuit that rewards precision and commitment, particularly in mixed winter conditions, and it once again proved to be a demanding test across all classes. Despite this, Ambition Motorsport left the weekend with standout performances, strong pace throughout the paddock, and clear positives across its Bambino, Cadet and Honda Cadet programmes.

Bambino MightE – Victory and Progress

Luca Pead wins the Ambition Motorsport Whilton Mill Winter Cup 2026

The headline result came in the MightE Bambino class, where Luka Pead delivered a near flawless weekend to secure overall victory. Luka topped the timesheets in qualifying and controlled the opening heat races, before responding superbly to setbacks later in the weekend. Starting further back in the Superheats, he produced calm and controlled drives to work his way forward, setting up the Final perfectly. From third on the grid, Luka wasted no time moving into contention and went on to claim a well deserved win, a strong statement to begin the season.

Alongside him, Teddy Wesolowski showed significant improvement across the weekend. Competing in a highly competitive field, Teddy made consistent gains session by session, repeatedly climbing through the order in the heats and Superheats. His ability to move forward and maintain pace placed him firmly inside the top six throughout much of the weekend, underlining the progress made since joining Ambition Motorsport.

MightE Cadet – Strong Final Charge

In the MightE Cadet class, Henry Hales delivered a composed and consistent performance. Qualifying inside the top five set the foundation for a solid weekend, with Henry maintaining strong pace through the heats despite a few tougher races. When it mattered most in the Final, he produced an excellent drive, moving forward to cross the line in fifth place. It was a measured and confident performance that highlighted both driver and team development heading into 2026.

Honda Cadet – Pace Without Reward

Ambition Motorsport fielded a large and competitive presence in the Honda Cadet class, with six drivers representing the team across the weekend. While the final results did not fully reflect the pace shown, there were strong individual performances and encouraging signs throughout the field.

Olly Knox set the benchmark early, securing pole position in qualifying and consistently demonstrating front running speed. He went on to set fastest laps during the heat races and remained firmly in contention across the Superheats, ultimately finishing fifth in the Final after a challenging race. Deno Rowlands also delivered a highly competitive weekend, showing excellent race craft and outright pace. He recorded fastest laps in both a heat and a Superheat, underlining his speed, although post race penalties in the Final dropped him down the order despite a strong on track performance.

Josh Adotey continued to build experience in a busy Honda Cadet field, making steady progress through the weekend and gaining valuable race mileage across the heats, Superheats and Final. Reggie Dufficy endured a difficult run of races early on, including a DNS in Superheat 2, but responded well in the Final with a determined drive forward, gaining positions and finishing strongly.

Nico Wesolowski showed flashes of progress during the heats and Superheats despite interruptions to his weekend, while Reggie Cook focused on consistency and development, completing every session and steadily improving as the weekend progressed.

Across the Honda Cadet class, the overall pace and data gathered across all drivers provides a strong platform to build from. With several drivers demonstrating front running speed and others gaining valuable experience, the Winter Cup proved a useful early season test ahead of the main championship campaign.
